Real Estate Assistants

Real estate assistants are the backbone of their agent’s business.  It’s not an easy job, but it is a challenging and exciting career!

ProREA real estate assistants are responsible for the day to day management of a real estate agent’s business.  This includes: maintaining and leveraging the agent’s database to maximize the agent’s new business generation, actively managing the agent’s calendar to keep the agent focused on the activities that will yield the greatest dividends, coordinating all listings and escrows, managing marketing programs (including constant maintenance and updates of team bios and testimonials of past clients), implementing systems to ensure that every satisfied client becomes a steady referral source for future business, and every aspect of administration of the agent’s office.

Do you have what it takes to become a top performing real estate assistant?

Superior assistants share three defining traits:

1. They are highly organized
Real estate assistants have a lot to keep track of.  You must excel at handling your own personal tasks and workspace as well as keeping your agent organized and productive.   The more organized you are, the more effective you’ll be.

2. They are natural leaders
Don’t let the word “assistant” fool you – as a real estate assistant, you won’t just be following orders.   You’ll need to be self-motivated and capable of coordinating the work of multiple vendors and affiliates, as well as taking the initiative to keep your office running smoothly.  Real estate assistants are at the center of everything that happens in their offices, so independence and ingenuity are vital!

3. They LOVE working with people
Real estate isn’t just about houses and land – it’s about service.  You’ll be interacting with many different types of people every day, so you must be a “people person!”  Having an upbeat, friendly personality and the ability to stay positive under pressure is crucial to being a truly great assistant.
